Why is the "3 Out" Freestyle offense even still in the game?

3rd team I've played for in My career. Mavs, Magic and Lakers all run a 3 Out Freestyle offense. 2 bigs on the block and 3 wings on the outside.

I don't believe a single offense in the NBA still utilizes 2 post scorers, let alone sets up in a 3-2 set for every play.

It wouldn't bother me if Coach called more designed plays, but he barely calls plays at all.

What's worse is if I try and BREAK the freestyle offense it doesn't know what to do.

On my SF I put him at the 4 and I NEVER go in the paint. I'm constantly trying to set on ball screens for Luka and he keeps making dumb decisions most of the time. If I don't immediately flare and call for the pick and pop that's usually a broken play.

On the inbound if I stay in the corner, the play still tells me to sit on the block and even tho I'm spaced out, ACE can't identify me as the 4 and will not advance or break the play tree.

It's to the point that if I'm not PG calling the correct play art I lose about 8-10 seconds a play.

Not even that, I can only call my first few plays in the offense. I would love to get deeper in the play book like I used to.

Was awesome last year setting the playbook and just finding my role in the offense. Idk why this is different this year?

The Mavericks for sure run 4-1 Freelance by default.

or are you saying despite this, they set up in a 3 out 2 in set?

Lakers, Mavs, and Magic all go to a "3 Out" freestyle offense no lie 95% of the time as soon as the ball crosses half court. It's maddening.

There's this new mode called MyNBA Eras. Why would they take historical freelance sets out of the game? This is a default 2k roster issue more than a take a relevant freelance set out of the game issue.

It shouldn't be applied to a single team in default rosters, then.
