Miss those days, another little tip but feather the LS, this is a tip Da Czar has shared with us, i've been in the lab with it. From what I've experience you'll get past the cpu easier and you'll be able to react better to when defenders try to cut you off example in spoiler

Another benefit is you can pull dribbling moves off consistently, just better control over the ball handler basically.

I'll add to that as I know a few guys have put up some on ball tutorials that could help.

This is an old video by Da Czar but it still holds true today because what he's teaching is defensive fundamentals:

Thanks man, appreciate it. I've already watched both of those videos several times and I'm sure thatthey're helpful to others as they were to me. I do okay against the CPU and sim players, but struggle against guys who do who constantly do what they do in this youtube video. I realise that this is an old video, just couldn't find a better example on youtube. But online against someone like Steph Curry, it's almost impossible to stay in front of them with the lag. I right-stick contest most layups and shots as well, but when I'm a bit out of position they've got enough space to get their shot of. And it's very frustrating that it takes a lot of effort to combat a tactic that's so easy to execute.

Tips on how to play good post defense? I mainly need help with the Go-to-moves such as post fadeaways, post drives, back down hook shots and post spins.

What are some suggestions on defense in MC? I've gotten my offense to play consistently by calling plays, getting/keeping team chemistry high and having certain badges but I can't get them to play consistent defense. I have the 'Defensive Anchor' badge, they play a bit better on D but they don't play it consistently.

I use the right stick a to contest all post shots and its effective if timed correctly.

Also pushing towards the post player during backdowns is effective to keep from being pushed under the goal. Those two things alone will improve your post defense.

L2 and pushing the stick towards the player helps. With most of the post moves you can kind of see them coming so jump a split second before the offensive player. Beware that the up and under will come but most of the time you should have a pretty solid shot contest.

L2 (LT on XB) right up until he goes into a shot animation. If you're still holding L2 then you will get a foul 95% of the time. Holding the right stick up (hands straight in the air) also will lead to fouls. The best way I've found is L2 until the shot and triangle (Y).
