NBA 2K16 shot meter's design flaw: A video analysis

Some like the shot meter while some don't, that's a subjective battle. However, 2K16's shot meter has a design flaw that can not be ignored: it is placed around a player's FEET.

**Did not know we are not allowed to do comparisons so i took down the video portion of the thread.

The point i was trying to make is that because 2k16 shot meter is around the shooter's feet a lot of times it gets obsured by front row audience or even the ref. WORSE a trailing defender can comepletely take out the meter. Secondly the left to middle timing action resembles a cross over more than the RISING ACTION of a jump shot. Having a meter is fine, but 2K's shot meter needs to be reworked to better capture the natural action of a jump shot.

As always feel free to discuss ^_^

Or.... you can just look at the actual shot and release it at the top.

also, since this is clearly a comparison vid, im not sure how long this thread is going to last.

Wait, are we not allow to do comparisons ?? OPPPS my bad. I will take it down myself.

I understand i can look at the actual shot ^_^ The point is for those who actually use the meter, having refs or trailing defenders affect the quality of the shot makes little basketball or gameplay sense.

The ONE place a shot meter belongs is on free throws.

Especially with guys who shoot great from the line in real life, but have hard-to-time releases, like Kevin Martin or Larry Bird.

Heck, if they could patch in an option for "Free Throws Only" on the shot meter, I'd be really happy!

I was just thinking about that while playing 2K15. I would like this option aswell.

I thought you could turn off the shot meter in 2k16?

Watched the vid on YouTube and you are totally right dude. There is no way that 2K can keep the meter at the feet after seeing how Live is doing it.

Not sure if they can change it without just ripping Live off though

You are right, the 2k's shot meter get covered most times.

But more important: WHERE did you got those 2k16 gameplays from?
