Which is better? I used to use the stick but switched to using X because it *seems* more effective but im not so sure. i think it would be better if you had to use pro stick and they made it harder somehow. but for now which is better? what do good players use?

Re: Is square / X better for jumpshots or the Pro Stick?

It's really just a matter of preference. Personally, I like to use the button for jumpshots/freethrows and the stick for layups/dunks/post shots.

Now, it sounds like 2K17 is going to add a little more difficulty to jumpshots taken with the stick, so it may be a slight advantage to use the button instead. We'll see how that plays out when we get the full details from 2K later on. Maybe they'll make the sweet spot smaller and a little harder to hit if you use the button to help balance things out?

Anyways, at the moment, there's really not much difference in using the stick and using the button. Just go with whatever feels better to you.

If in fact, the 2k17 will penalize you for using pro stick and not aiming straight down then X will be better method.

I just like pro stick because you dont have to switch finger placement and it feels more natural on the release.

I never use the sticks except for Eurosteps, floaters, post hooks, and post fades . The square button just seems better to use for me .

Id say its personal preference. I prefer shot stick, just seems more natural, like analog stick does for pitching in The Show over pushing a button. Better term would probably be just a tad more realistic along with a added dificulty, than saying more natural. Still what ever works for you is what you should go with, not what someone else says is best or what they feel is the most realistic.
