So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17

Was just watching this video and at about 1:15 he says that a "critical" player was removed from one of the historic teams. Looking at the comment section it appears it's Steve Nash.

Pretty disappointing. I played a bunch of games with the 05 Suns in PNO and they were a damn good team.

I still want access to prime Matrix and Amare though since they're now retired.

Sucks though....hopefully they can get him in later lile Dr. J

In situations like theae you have to assume either negotiations broke down somewhere or he simply didnt want to be in the game..

        ...and once again

I honestly could care less if they just gave us a real comprehensive and truly robust Create a Player feature.

That would eliminate all of this license, missing players stuff etc etc....

Until then, there are ALWAYS going to be these issues.

I still don't really get why players refuse to be in the game. I mean it's entirely their right but I don't really find reasons to refuse.

I'd be really interested to know more about how 2K approaches theses players, how much money they offer them, how do the negociations go and what's 2K's budget for legend players.

Wow, so both the '05 Suns & '03 Mavs are screwed. I mean, I guess you could swap the '03 Mavs for the '11 Mavs, because they literally have the license for everyone on that team.

But R.I.P to the 7 seconds or less 2k Suns.

That team was my least favorite because I thought Nash winning two consecutive MVPs at the time was ridiculous. Like, once sure, but not twice imo. I'm not a fan of how the Lakers lost to them that year after being up 3-1 either, so I hated them.

Why would you hate the Suns more than the Lakers? I would've been pulling for Phoenix that series since Kobe and L.A beat Portland down 15 in game 7 back in 2000.

I really wish the players' union or the Hall of Fame would allow digital distribution rights to its members' likenesses in perpetuity in association with NBA video games...or something like that (I'm not a lawyer).

But that's the way it is.

And situations like this are part of what we have to stomach when we demand entire teams.

If you ask me, we should just go the 2K3 route, where it has teams full of stars of a certain decade...

...or, go Madden's route, and have them in the game as ROOKIES, so we can insert them onto teams for MyLeague or whatever, and resolve the question "What if Mikan/Wilt/Jordan/Olajuwon/etc. played in today's NBA?"

I don't need end-of-the-bench guys very few people care about. I don't need entire teams--that just makes the missing players that much more noticeable! Just get us the big ones. I'm fine with that.

Some of us liked to use the classic teams on play now online.

Re: So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17

                      This is an absolute joke.

Almost at the point now where I'm not even going to bother getting 2k17.

First the Kings, then they removed the 85 sixers, now without Nash it's almost a cert they'll remove the Suns and Mavs.

                      Nope. No thanks 2k.

Unless you can add more teams instead of removing them, I don't think I want to give you my cash, seeing as I only buy this game for the classic teams.

I feel you dave but imo you can blame the players on that one. Either Nash didn't want to be in the game or didn't agree to the terms. I doubt 2K has that big of a budget when it comes to the legends. It's wierd though that he was in just last year.

Yeah I know man.. I don't blame 2k for Nash departing, I know that's not their fault.

It would be nice for 2k to try and fill the void though and give us a few new teams they could feasibly afford.
