Re: So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17
As far as Nash not being in the game, that's incredibly disappointing. I loved playing with his classic Suns squad.
2K really needs to evaluate what they're doing with these classic teams.

Re: So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17
Players are still Union until a year after they retire, which is why 2K is going all out on Kobe this year. They lose him for 2K18 unless he either joins the retired players' union or comes to an individual agreement with 2K. I suspect that's how they lost Nash this year.Comment

Re: So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17
Every player isn't the same. Kobe might want more than 2K is willing to offer or he may just want to stay relevant since he's out of basketball completely now.
Kareem took himself out for more cash and he eventually got it. Webber held out for the same reason but he may never see it.
Pippen held out briefly but was either convinced or realized he was already broke and a little money is better than none.Last edited by Kstat; 09-05-2016, 07:27 AM.Comment

Re: So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17
Keep in mind Jordan himself benefits by being in the game because 2K is the best ad possible for his Jordan Brand shoes. I wouldn't be shocked if he actually sees little or no money from this. The older he gets, the more he needs 2K to keep him relevant with teenagers that never saw him play.Comment

Re: So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17
According to his 'advisors', Jordan doesn't play ball (Virtually) for anything less than 10 mil which is a ridiculous amount of money seeing he's a damn billionaire.
As I mentioned in another post, some of it comes down to ego and greed.
Nash has a net worth of 9 Mil - what's the big deal with accepting several thousand from 2k to have your likeness in a game. You're getting paid for doing NOTHING.
Same for Webber - $80 Mil.
Reggie - $90 mil.
Barkley - $30 Mil
Again, all net worth - with that kind of money, you'd think 2k throwing some cash at them for simply using them in a video game would be simple enough, but no. Everyone wants MORE. Just look at the fuss Pippen made in 2k13 before he finally got talked round.....-----------------------------------------

Re: So No Steve Nash in NBA 2K17
Pippen is ****ing broke. Of anyone I'd expect him to get every cent he can.
Of course he isn't blameless for blowing his money but he was also criminally underpaid every year he played for the Bulls. Ron freaking Harper got paid more than he did.
As for Jordan, yes I'm sure there's a standard major fee for his likeness but 2K is a special case because he needs to be in 2K to keep his name relevant among teenagers who happen to be his bigger consumer base for his shoes. I'd be shocked if he got paid that much money when he sells more shoes for being in the game.
I wouldn't be too quick for jumping to blame guy for not being in the game. We don't know each individual circumstance and we don't know how much 2K has in their budget to get these guys. For all we know the money that would have landed Barkley and Webber went to Kareem.Last edited by Kstat; 09-05-2016, 09:31 AM.Comment
