Not sure why this should even be an issue. Everyone knew going into the season about the position changes. Yet 2k seemingly chose to ignore it I guess

so if harden goes to another team or gets traded, is he a point guard or a shooting guard?

The answer right now is that he is probably still a shooting guard on the majority of teams if they were to acquire him. Just because the rockets use him as a point guard doesnt mean that harden is a point guard now for the majority of nba teams.

same argument for butler at sf and Beverly at shooting guard.

Since you want to try and apply it to real life..

But 2k doesn't make their decisions based on what could possibly happen. Harden is a PG, but the game doesn't have him as one. No reason not to. I mean, that IS his position

you might not know but 2K has gamemodes called mygm and myleague in which harden could be traded or signed and you can get to year 10 with harden still in the nba. It also has a fantasy draft option. These are reasons why harden could still be a shooting guard

at this point, you cant prove what teams would play him at point guard. so its obvious that 2K is standing to the position that he played for 7 out of the 8 years of his nba career.
