Loose Dribble should be Tangible

I mentioned this when we got access to the Demo because anyone who knows how 2Ks mechanics work knew this would be an issue. The problem?

The Loose Dribble animation should be the animation in the game we can interrupt/interact with MOST. Its literally a guy trying not to lose control of the ball after colliding with the defender or great D. That our defender gets stuck in an animation can't happen. The demo revealed we'd have to wait until the animation played out, which often let the offensive player get in better position for an easy shot:





The solution? EASY. Let us swipe at the ball if we see fit or to crowd the offensive player with the Hands Up Contain you see below. Its one of the best animations in the game and users can't trigger it--when it should be the reward for great defense and provide very low shot percentages, strips and even offensive fouls if the player is overaggressive:





While the HUC should have criteria (we don't want to see Redick containing AD) it serves as a great option to fill the gameplay gap opposite risky behaviors like blocks/steals. Animations we cant interrupt are the worst kind of lost control....hopefully this can be rectified by the time we get 2K21 in our hands--the alternative is gameplay that punishes good defense.

You were right all along. Ha. My apologies. If we could just either hold L2 or hands up netx to them to prevent them from being in a position to score we would be good.

My thing is, just let me do something (FREE my defender ) swipe, crowd this guy....any FREAKING thing.

Happened earlier: I'm late getting back (Embiid should have switched to Drummond--I have them matched up in the defensive options) and get matched up with Andre, but he catches the ball out too far and bobbles the ball after colliding with me. The animation starts.....

PAUSE there. Because Literally nothing is within my control until the big swipe that ends up drawing a foul. AGAIN: Gameplay has to do better. This is right up there with animations that make people fall or 2K19's post takeover. Let us have CONTROL.



The weird part? Why wouldn't you want to reward good D?

the ball is tangible now. Not always but at least 50% of the time. which is 45% more often than in past 2ks. lol. you dont have to wait til the end of the animation to go for the ball. you can tip at it and poke it lose and start hounding the guy for it as he tries to maintain it while you keep tipping it. Now this works user vs user using your my career players. does it work vs the cpu? not sure.

Nope. This is H2H in PNO. I can assure you the ball is not tangible until the animation ends. Ask any number of people who play online.

The animation not being interruptible almost cost me here...I would have swiped continously a foul be damned. He was point blank at the rim and I wasn't in the penalty.

i wonder if its not tangible because the guys you're playing with (nba stars) are just that. stars or highly rated/highly badged up players. and my players are not YET badged up and maxed out.
