and not like aliens like in past games, i used to cringe when i'd see a white guy. it's understandable because 80% of players in the league are black but i'm sure if you dig up old screens then you'll see that white guys look like aliens.

meh I'm trying to think of an example... I think it goes both ways as in all players are not perfect

I think the white players have been pretty good. Live is the one where the white players look exceptionally bad. In 2K8, it was only the skin tones that looked bad, which were too saturated and unrealistic.

I actually have a new program that can compare the accuracy between objects, like facial renderings. It actually measures facial accuracy, which is the shape and distance between objects on a face. If you give me a game pic and a real-life pic, I'd be happy to run it for you.

Both of the 2K8 models looks pretty good to me, especially Pecherov... nearly perfect. Kirilenko is probably the funkiest-looking white dude in the game (Nash is up there too), but it looks like they got him right in 2K9.

Maybe a few models were correct but I know what you mean, most of the white guys did not look right

What I never understood was that 2k added animations for Nash's hair for example. But why did the other white players with longer hair not have the same animation? All of their hair looked painted on

the worst was create a player...holy mother of... wow... it was bad.

Fortunately the devs said a created player will finally look human. so the new improved skin textures are probably helping

true...a lot of the white players looked like they had plastic skin...it seems to be improving now. a lot of this is due do not enough texture and variation on the skin surface...if it is too smooth it looks fake.
