Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just bought the game, Im an avid madden player looking for a new challenge. I jumped right into association with only one game under my belt, so we'll see how it goes. I havent played a basketball game besides a few games of 2k10 at a buddies.

Started one as the celtics (Ray Allen has been my favorite player since he was on the bucks) but the file got corrupted. I was 4-5.

So now I started one as the Knicks.

First thing I did was trade 2 shooting guards, honestly cant remember the names, and a 2012 first round draft pick for Kendrick Perkins. They had 6 SGs and only One Center so I decided I needed another one, and I used Trade finder and Perkins came up.

Im 1-0. Mello had 34 points and 12 rebounds in my first game which is unheard of from me seeing as though I only have a few games under my belt.

Im looking to improve my bench, anyone have any suggestions? It seems I cant do much when my "Big 3" is all out at the same time.

BTW, Im new to association mode so if anyone has any tips theyd be greatly appreciated.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I just started a season with the Pistons. Right now I'm doing my rotations the same way Detroit has been doing it for real the past couple games, which is brutal lol.

I'm 2-1, losing by 10 to the Nets, then winning by 1 against OKC on 2 Rodney Stuckey FTs with 0.4 left on the clock! Then beat the Bulls in Chicago after they collapsed in the 2nd half. I outscored them 57-39 after trailing by 9 at the break.

Stuckey is averaging 13 pts and 10 ast so far. Ben Gordon has been my best player offensively getting 24 ppg, but I think that will come down a bit as the season progresses.

My rotations have been:

  • Stuckey
  • Gordon
  • Daye
  • Wilcox
  • Monroe

(seriously)

my bench:

  • Bynum
  • Hamilton
  • Summers (DaJuan)
  • Villanueva
  • Maxiell (yup Maxiel at center lol)

I also use a third rotation for late in games, but my lineups seem to screw up in-game sometimes, not sure why it does that:

  • Stuckey
  • Gordon
  • Hamilton
  • Villanueva
  • Monroe

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Now that the deadline passes alot of people are starting new associations with the updated rosters.

How many games are you guys putting in a season? I want to do 82 to make it as realistic as possible but I know I'm not gonna be able to finish it. Or if I do then I won't be able to do a second year.

I'm doing 82 games but only 5 minutes per quarter. I can't have the time to play 12 minutes. 5 minute quarter games last about an hour which is good for me. I've almost finished my first season. In Western Conference Finals vs Jazz tied at 3-3

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just started my Franchise last night with the new rosters and all the buyouts. I went with the Knicks, I just like that I can add some good pieces to them and make them a good contender. I played my first game against the Raptors, All-Star,Sim,12Min also it's a 82 game season. I had a pretty close game against the raptors but the duo of Melo and Amare was just to much for them in the end and I won by 7. Billups had 14 pts 16 Ast so he did well, he's just real slow I know the young PG's will kill him. I made a trade after the game, Corey Brewer to the Suns for Pietrus I need some scoring off the bench hopefully he can provide that. I'm also thinking of going after Ibaka from OKC cause I don't know how Turiaf will hold up against the west. Devin Harris is also on my mind for a PG to go after but I might just see how Billups holds up this year and save cap. Next game Boston tell you how it goes

It was a shocking victory but I'm not going to overreact and change my sliders. This team is really fun and Vujacic and Morrow are killin it from 3. Currently 9-8, about to play the Knicks.

I'm getting a little worried about my sliders after just beating the Knicks 117-87. My only notable scorer was Deron, who had 38 and 7. My sliders are frustrating because I'll play a team like the Bobcats and lose and then have a game like I did against the Knicks. 10-8 right now and I'm going to sim until we play the Lakers in about a week. Hoping I won't have to change my sliders. I'll post team and league stats next.
