Bill Abner's thoughts on NCAA after playing at E3

Most of you know Bill Abner as the Godfather of sports gaming. His opinion is worth more to me than any review or any other impressions from anyone else on the planet. His High Impressions were legendary. Here's a link to his blog and to say the least, he's not impressed with 06. It looks like most of the same problems are back

If this is the case, I'm renting it for the draft classes.

sounds more like Bill in a grumpy mood than anything... by the way he worded the dropped passes it didn't sound like he saw a ton but more that the producer said it will be due to composure....

The new features do look cool, though. Impact players might be neat, I didnt see the recruiting stuff, and the screws do seem to have been tightened gameplay wise, so I dont want to sound like the game is doomed tyo 2005 suck levels, but those expecdting a rtaqdically different game will be ..radically disappointed
Call me crazy but I'm encouraged by this. By "Mr. Grumpy's" standards he's almost gushing.

Well if this guy thought NCAA 2005 sucked then his opinion means "NADA".

Why do you say that? IMO, 2005 had some major issues.

Re: Bill Abner's thoughts on NCAA after playing at E3

2005 had one big issue the deep ball worked way to well, but considering they used the madden 2004 engine it was to be expected.
Little things like
- Lack of realistic line play
- Dropped passes
- Little schools becoming to good (North Texas, Air Force, Ohio) IE Run heavy teams with conservative pass defences would give you easy wins in simming
- Lack of power back moves ala NFL 2k5
- Computer Teams not playing there actual defenses (Ari St. BYU New Mexico) all teams used 4-3's rather the 3-4's or 3-3-5's

All this things are minor tweaks
