Florida Playbook

I just took a look at the Florida playbook and every set is a shotgun set of some sort. I have never played with a team that was exclusivly shotgun. I wonder how this is going to affect the running. I saw draws and read option plays out the ***. Who am I kidding with that kind of a playbook I going sling that **** all over the field.

Re: Florida Playbook

I watched UFs spring game and they did operate exclusively out of the shotgun but there were a lot of draw plays in there. It was really surprisingly balanced and both Leak and Portis had a number of keepers. Wynn was going wild up the middle with so many defenders playing outside to counter the multiple reciever sets.

If you watched Utah the past 2 years you would know they ran almost exclusively out of the shotgun and ran for 200+ yards a game last year.

I'm all about matchups. If I see that your secondary is suspect then I'm going to attack it but if I keep gashing you with run plays then so be it. All in all though I like to keep things balanced or playcall for down and distance.
