You can make your D-line slant either left or right by pressing L, then hitting left or right on the D-pad.

I can't tell you how disappointing that is to hear. I haven't started playing yet (still doing rosters), but that has been a pretty common theme I've read and it is simply dis-heartening! Hopefully, once I get out of the roster lab and into the slider lab I can remedy this.
