Just get rid of the o-line getting pancaked...

animation (ps2) and this game would be so much better imo. That animation alone disrupts so much of the actual gameplay it just kills me. That animation is rediculous, as if my tackle weighs maybe 50 pounds and the defensive end weighs 900 pounds. There are other animations that are fine, I like how the defensive tackle can take a hard rush inside and bully the o-line but at least he just does not flatten him immediately.

jump the snap bothers me more than the deep ball. it is ridiculous. whoever decided to make it this way should be slapped and fired.

Re: Just get rid of the o-line getting pancaked...

Jump the snap is brutal and the worst thing about the game with the new kicking system close behind. Running people over is stupid. Only having a great jump = destroy OL and a late jump = OL destroys is crap. There is no medium ground here where both sides actually play an even matchup to their ratings (when you are a DL). Anytime you see an OL get run over, it just reeks of arcadey garbage.

Jump the Snap!

Jump the snap gives me more control in this video game. I agree that the offensive lineman getting pancaked is ridiculously unreal in its frequency. I would not mind having an animation showing the d-line escaping by immediately slipping the grasp of the offensive block. Rather than pancake, it would be neat to be able to bull rush the lineman right back into the QB once a game or so. One animation EA has implemented on JTS is the DE running right past the o-line without being touched.

JTS also enhances the rest of the defensive response even if your D-lineman gets locked up by the guard, tackle, or center, if you get a "great jump".

Finally, and maybe my biggest reason for liking JTS, is I suck at playing DB. Even before there was JTS, in versions 2006 & 2005, I played with the D-line.

•You should be able to turn JTS off.
•You should be able to keep JTS on.
•EA should decrease the pancakes of O-linemen.
•EA should create alternative animations of O-linemen being beaten.
