60 FPS is 360 only... Not PS3

If the football games were great this year, I was thinking about jumping to next gen sooner. I was also thinking about the PS3 since it has the Show but this 30 fps is nonsense. It was one of the reasons I didn't like the 360 version last year and determined it wasn't worth the upgrade. I'm not sure what I'm going to do but I'll probably just stick with my PS2, wait for a price drop and then decide what to do next year. If 2K baseball can improve, I may not bother with the PS3 at all.

Well said. I could care less about BluRay DVDs. The bottom line is it is supposed to be the superior video game console and it just isn't at this point.

I own both consoles, but only have MLB The Show for PS3. I use the PS3 primarily as a Blu-Ray player and upscaler, and for that purpose, it is fantastic. Perhaps the best Blu-ray player on the market. Yet, it can not compete with the games for the 360...

Too bad the 360 is built like a piece of crap...mine is currently being repaired by Microsoft; hopefully I get it back before NCAA comes out because this bit of news confirms which console I am buying it for.

hehe i use the PS3 for the same purposes and as for the 360 ive been reading people getting their 3rd or 5th 360, so far im still on my second one...guess im lucky

Its the same path, When Madden 06 came out in November 05 for the XBox 360, 30 fps, Madden 07 in August 06 30 fps, Madden 08 in August 07 60 fps. Now Madden 07 PS3 November 06 30fps, Madden 08 August 07 30 FPS, Madden 09 August 08 60 FPS.

This wasn't the news I was expecting when I was waking up this morning

Anyhow, I knew when they weren't showing anything on the PS3 that something had to be wrong. I was just hoping it wouldn't be this bad.

Seriously though, if MLB '07 keeps on being as good as it is this year, this game could run on 5 FPS for all I care...having both games on the console is good enough for me.

BTW, I presume the current-gen games ran at 60 FPS, correct?

This is what makes me mad.....on IGN, under the PS3 version of Madden and NCAA this is what they say

"Visually, it's a gem -- running at 60 frames per second with a branching animation system that not only looks great, but leaves control in the hands of the player."

No where in the article does it say its 360 only
