yeah...some sites do that for alot of sports games....you can't really go to a site like ign.com to look at a sports game review IMO.... they are the hard core sports gamers that most people on this site are

Not even that. I'm pretty sure you can use the PS3 browser to download rosters straight to your hard drive.

can someone answer about how to transfer files? do you need a thumb drive or can you use the browser? i'm new to the PS3 and wanted to know if i needed to grab a small drive when out getting the game this morning.

Get a small thumb drive. It's really really simple that way. Downloading through the browser probably won't work unless you can find an uncompressed version.
