Power backs / running up the middle

I've noticed that speed back's seem to be better then power backs. Is anyone else noticing that it's alot easier to get yards running wide then it is up the middle ?

Really? It seems all my big gains come from running up the middle. I usually get stuffed running wide.

When the defense make its adjustment to stop your attack up the middle, that's when you go for the tosses and sweeps, and playaction passes to the flats. Anyway, there would be no need for you to run outside if the defense is not strong enough to stop your runs up the middle.

Re: Power backs / running up the middle

With a true power back, I find running up the middle to be my best offense. I can usually get 4-5 yards per carry. I also get most of my home runs off runs up the middle. However, I think the toss is better for my 10-12 yard gains at the risk of getting stuffed for a loss.

It depends on the back. I'm the Buckeyes in my Dynasty and with Chris Wells I run up the middle and sometimes get big chunks doing so. It's a crap shoot for him hitting the corner though. When I roll with Maurice Wells I don't get jack squat hitting the middle usually and I do if I run to the outside most of the time. It's very realistic in this sense and IMO the best football game to ever finally get power backs vs speed backs correctly modeled.

Re: Power backs / running up the middle

Power backs are beasts in this game from my experience.

PJ Hill owned me in an exhibition game and Big Ben Tate for Auburn plows over LBs with alarming regularity.
