Yeah I found this:

On Field Textures

"One thing we're really proud of this year is our field textures. The level of detail has improved quite a bit. You'll actually be able to see the difference between grass and synthetic turf, which is something that's totally new. We also have field degradation, so the field will see realistic wear and tear during the course of a game."

^^That was from the first trailer, so hopefully it was only absent from his build and will be in the final game, and they don't pull another fast one on us

I dare say the field was 'glazed over' as a big puddle in the middle when it rained last year, but degradation didn't really take place, especially in the snow! I couldn't see the field in a snow game after the first quarter. Didn't know where sideline was half the time, so I just stayed in the middle

please have it this year EA

Well the snow last year was glitched. So not really fair to compare it to anything.

I still find that the feild is TOO patchy. not enough density in green blades...

Once again I beg of EA to pick up APF2K8 and look at how they do their rain and field degradation. It's downright near perfect in that game. However for snow they should pick up NFL Fever 2004 as that is the best I've ever seen snow in a game (while they're renting that title they should check out player towels as well

)
