For what its worth, Adam/OMT said that the PS3 version is not a port from the X-Box. He said the games are built side by side instead. I still think developers are having problems figuring out the PS3's hardware IMO.

Sony removed update 2.4, which featured XMB, due to some consoles being bricked.

I got mine pretty early too, i havent experienced any of the problems people are complaining of though. [knock on wood]

on the playstation boards it seems like people with problems have the 80 gb or 60 , i got the 40 gb and i havent had any problems

Actually a majority of those complaining on the 'net seem to be 40GB users, just like the majority of those that claim their system failed.

60GB users should be fine, especially since the XMB was built for that system.
