Rocket Catch?

Can someone please tell me what this is and why it's bad?

I've played online every year since '06 and never really had many complaints, but recently it's all I hear about.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it refers to the ability to manually switch to your receiver and jump for passes and bring them down at will.

I know it's a big problem in the Ps2 version of Madden/Ncaa, basically the user QB throws a quick and high pass the receiver leaps up and catches the ball at a very high percentage regardless of coverage or defenders in the area.

That's what confuses me because I haven't really heard someone go in-depth explaining it, just ideas or complaining about it.

I've always user caught since 06, on offense and defense, but no one's ever complained... I guess I'm not doing the "rocket" deal. I think user catching and user break ups is a skill and once you're good at it it's an advantage over letting the CPU catch all your passes.

There's a few in there. There's a tutorial on the web somewhere with a ton of good ones. It's basically unstoppable.
