How do you get better at this game?

I have never been a big football guy...Im trying to get into NCAA this year. The problem is that I dont know football like I do other sports. Is there anyway to learn enough about the game to get good.

Who should I use on defense? This is my biggest issue

Can someone explain what defenses should be used in wat situations? What is a Robber? Press? and other stuff like that...when should it be used?
