NCAA needs a "throw away" mechanic

I'm not talking about toss the ball intentionally out of bounds. You can't do that in the pocket or else it's a penalty. You need some sort of way to throw the ball uncatchably to the WR. For example on a slant where the WR is covered, there should be a way to throw the ball at the recievers feet.

In real life, it seems that QB's throw passes that can't be caught by either player if the play is not there. They don't roll out of the pocket and throw the ball away.

Every time I try this technique (by extremely leading the WR out of bounds or overthrown) I get intercepted. Maybe the lead passing should only be used for this type of throw. Maybe we can click and hold the R stick to force a bad incomplete pass.

I think this is lacking in the game. Anyone else agree?

I think that is a great suggestion and would be beneficial.

Re: NCAA needs a "throw away" mechanic

Very much agreed.

I have had so many times were I am under a heavy rush and my recievers are covered, leaving me to either:

A. Cope with a sack
B. Throw a pick
C. Throw it away and get a penalty

I mean, there is almost no way to get rid of the ball if you have a dropback passer at QB.

So yeah, great point.

I like it. As long as super WR doesn't do his 180 degree instant cut and get to and catch the throw away

Maybe leave the R stick for leading the pass and use the L stick for throw aways. You shouldn't be using the L stick while throwing anyway.

Great idea, I hate when I push the left stick all the way away from the defender yet he throws it right at him!

That would increase realism and decrease pass completions percentages and we all know that WIDE OPEN GAME PLAY and the direction that EA wants to head are strongly AGAINST that for the NCAA series. I think this is a good idea for Madden but not in line with NCAA direction at all.
