Recommend Transfers for 2010?

I think it would be cool to have an option at the Cut Players screen where you could recommend to a kid that he transfer. Case in point: I have a 6th string RB that was the #4 RB in the country two years ago. He hasn't progressed that much though, and now has been passed by the next two classes. It would be nice to recommend to him that he transfer, and let him go somewhere else, rather than me cutting him and taking him completely out of the game. At that point, either he would accept and transfer to another school, or choose to stay on.

What do you guys think?

Excellent idea. I think it should be done before cut players. I guess it would have to be done when time comes for players to transfer out or declare for the draft. This is much needed IMHO.

Great call!

What would be the benefit for your team? I would think it would be better if he were cut and didn't sign elsewhere than have him sign with your rival and then develop into a stud in his senior year.

But sometimes they transfer to your rivals anyway, right? And the odds are, they would go to a school where they are actually needed.

Re: Recommend Transfers for 2010?

What happens in real life when a player gets cut? I know in cases where they get kicked off the team (Bomar, Perrilloux, Moss, etc) they transfer to a lower division school, but I've never heard of a guy who was just so awful (who didn't have discipline issues) that they yanked his scholarship.

I do like the idea and making it even easier, any player who gets cut should be given the option to transfer.

I just wish you could dismiss players during the year, especially if they do something that violates team rules.

Also in terms of roster editing, they need to make a free agent pool (obviously not exactly but like a released player pool) so that we can execute transfers easier, like in College Hoops

That's one of the problems with the game. In real life, if you offer a scholly to a dud, or give too many schollies to players who play one position, you're stuck with them until they transfer themselves, or until they graduate. You can only yank a scholly once they've written down their John Hancock on that commitment paperwork if they violate rules.
