Recruiting Question

Is there any way to determine if a player can be convinced into coming to your school. I remember 2 years ago in this game after the 1st 2 weeks if I players's interest had not moved up or down this was a sign that the game had not assigned an interset level to this player. In that instance this player no matter how hard you tried would never come to your school. Is there any tells in the recruiting behavior to eliminate players.

Also if a players status shows that he is down to his top 3 and you are 4th on his last should he be dropped or is this too early to drop him? Is there any hope left?

Re: Recruiting Question

All good questions.......I have learned to only go after guys that have me as a top school or top 5. I go after anyone decent that has me #1. Some of those guys will sign on offering of a scholarship right away.

if the recruiting gets later and later and I my school is dropping I will forget him. I wont drop him off my board but top pursuing him. If I have extra time at the end I might throw it at him just to see.

But bottom line it seems like a waste of time pursuing guys not interested in your school.

Been easy for me since I am PSU

Re: Recruiting Question

At this point I try to recruit kids who do NOT want to be on television since my TV rating is now down to FAIR. I want kids who do not want the pressure of playing in front of large audiences and would rather not have their family and friends able to watch them on television.

Re: Recruiting Question

This may work out if your playing as a top flight school. I am in a Dynasty with a friend of mine and all we do is recruit. We simulate all our games. I am playing as Kentucky, and it will be quite tough to move up in the SEC ranks if I'm only gettings guys that have me as #1 on their board.

I know with this recruiting it must be some type of algorithm and I'm wonder if anyone has discovered and recruiting trends that are are concrete.

Re: Recruiting Question

That recruiting trick about seeing interest go up or down was a last gen thing in the off season I believe. I honestly haven't paid attention to it on the PS3 versions so I don't know if it's the case or not. I don't think there is a way to truly know if a kid will sign which is a good thing imo.

I think you just have to pay attention to where you are on the interest meter on the kid. Obviously you would like to be #1 but if you aren't, how far below on the interest meter are you? I've seen some recruits where I was #2 or #3 but was trailing so badly I just gave up. I've seen other recruits where he doesn't have a strong interest in anyone so being #7 or #8 isn't a bad thing.

If you want someone bad enough, rank them high, spend a lot of time on them and try to sway them in areas where they have Low interest and are strengths of your program.

Yeah I hate that when the players tell me they're not really interested in winning a championship. I'll gladly show them the door.

Re: Recruiting Question

My strategy easily gets me 20+ guys.

1st step - Target all 3* + that have you at #1
2nd step - Target the 4 recruits you want the most!
3rd step - Target all 4* above or pos. of needs that have you in their top 10

Cut your board down to about 15-20 players

Offer all players right away.

Top 4 most wanted always call for 40mins in the quick call

Try to get the recruits that have the most interest in you for a visit right away against a rival school. If you beat them the odds of landing them are greater than 80%. This in the long run will help you target your most valued recruits for a longer phone call.

If a recruit ever soft verbals to a school after you had him for a visit, call him up for 2+ hours and more than likely you will land him.

My latest class with Texas I landed 12.. 5* 11.. 4* and 2.. 3*

This strategy works for me.

Decent Strategy but with a school like Texas how do you cut your board down to 15-20 after targeting for all those guys.

You say you landed 25 guys......how many did you target?? 25?

U are suggesting bringing the board down to 15-20....doesn't add up..clarify
