Re: NCAA DNA or roster updates?

How would using DNA break any rules? DNA is nothing more than establishing tendencies of a player. Of course, you can't use the players name, but having a tendency of a QB to make more passes on the run versus being in the pocket is not breaking any sort of NCAA rules. Just don't call it DNA.

And IMO, using this concept is really the way to go in terms of making all college teams have a different style of play. At the moment, every team seems to have a similar style in NCAA.

Re: NCAA DNA or roster updates?

This is really unrealistic in the first place. EA has troubles even getting in the correct players, you really think they would release weekly tendency updates for all 120 FBS teams? No way. That is way too many players. This is way different than a 15 man, 32 team NBA roster. We're talking 70 man, 120 team roster, it'll never happen, even if the NCAA approved it.

The other obstacle is updating DNA of 70 x 120 players. It would definitely be cool but it won't happen. Why, you ask? Do we really have to ask that question?

Oh I believe they will not implement something like this either, but I didn't mean it in the way that Live does it...where they are updating this everyday. I meant moreso as a specific "rating". So for each player, you would have his rating and then you would have his tendencies...both of which you would have the ability to modify, just like you do normal rosters.

Re: NCAA DNA or roster updates?

this is what Greg Heddlesten had to say about this when he was asked about player DNA or updating rosters.

"Because we can't. We cannot do any live roster changes based on how the actual players are progressing in the season. We cannot have real players in our game per the NCAA, and we will follow their rules and regulations without question.

Unfortunately, your example is invalid because even if the player is just WR#18 on some team, by us changing his rating during the season through a patch breaks their rules; as we are basing that change on a real player's performance. Any type of live roster updates or periodic rosters updates will never come from us until we are cleared to do so. There is nothing really more to say on the matter as we will follow the NCAA's guidelines without question." Source
