4 and 5 star recruits appearing out of no-where 2 weeks befoer signing day?

Why was this adjustment put in the recruiting? Is there anyone on the design team who understands that this never happens? We can't trust this company to actually improve the game much less waste time on ruining features they previously had working reallistically. I would just like to know why time was spent implementing a feature that does not even happen in college football recruiting?

I too was confused as to why they thought this would be a good addition to dynasty mode.

They are having recruits show up during the last few weeks of the off season recruiting who are not ever listed during the season. This was talked about a while back as an upgrade to dynasty mode recruiting.

Re: 4 and 5 star recruits appearing out of no-where 2 weeks befoer signing day?

I, for one, like the idea. It reflects reality more than previous recruiting engines have. Remember when Carlos Dunlap appeared as a 5-star kid in the winter. Kids get stars when they are evaluated. A minority of all HS players are evaluated. Good recruiters are still able to find talent, that no one else offers, and that talent ends up in the NFL.

Remember also, (I feel like I hear this often on this site) how good a player is, is not reflected in their stars. How much *potential* a kid has, is reflected in their stars. There are very good HS players, who are incredibly productive, but are 5'9" QBs that don't project as top college QBs so don't get the 4 stars. Maybe they're fast, so they get projected as a S, and get 3 stars - or maybe not.

The same is also true of the NFL. Just because Clay Matthews was drafted ahead of Rey Maulauga (sp?), does not mean he was a better collegiate player. NFL teams, like college teams, pick players for how they project they will develop/what their potential is. Some Texas Longhorn 4-star olinemen, who everybody in the country offers, never improve, and never play ... and are easily out-classed by less touted olinemen who go to Tulsa, or Rice, and who develop and have a higher ceiling.

When Utah got Brice McCain out of Texas - he was lightly pursued. Rivals had him as a 2-star, 4.9 - meaning they little/nothing about him. He happened to have 4.2/4.3 speed that made him an all-conference player, and a 4th round pick in the NFL draft. His draft position was less a reflection of his college resume - which was pretty good - and more a reflection of his staggering speed. If he's mid 4.4 then maybe he's 7th round/FA.

Ok, bottom line is that it rarely happens where a top-tier recruit just magically appears toward the end of the season. I distinctly remember in an interview that there are several per year who show up that no one has ever seen to give your school and the smaller schools a chance to sign them.

Once again, good idea.. terrible execution.
