You have to remember that a game's "engine" is just a fancy name for the collection of all it's various parts. The whole thing doesn't need discarded, because there are a lot of things that work. Give Ian another year to work on the running animations and momentum/physics of the players and then the overall engine will play beautifully. And to add on to what your saying if there using the same engine with combined efforts we should see greater improvements from year to year. I have created a thread like this months ago. Saying these two games should have a lot more similiarity to them.

Or...I know this is crazy....EA could just make the PS2 version of NCAA in HD leaving everything else EXACTLY the same. I seriously think I would be overjoyed by that at this point- especially since I have found myself playing my PS2 non stop just for a solid NCAA game.
