Question about penalties for game planning etc.

I have a question. If someone playing D presses all game, will there be more Pass Interference calls or will it risk the DB's chances of getting beat more often? Will the D be at any risk? I know you can mess up if you guess to defend the pass and the O runs. I've seen the penalty when that happens. Just curious to see whether the press is a 'gimme' and would be considered a glitch if someone uses it all game long and there is no chance to get penalized. I just want to know if it creates an unfair advantage for the person playing D.

I don't know about penalties, but if you have a fast WR with decent acceleration(95+ speed and 90+ Acc) and you know he is going to be pressed, send him on a streak. For some reason the WR would beat the CB about 95% of the time.

Cool, thanks. When I said penalties I meant Pass Int. but also would the D player be penalized by getting burnt etc. I'll try this too. Thanks for the tip. How do you read Press?

Just go to practice and play D, Run a few plays regular and than run a few plays with press coverage, you'll be able to tell the difference pretty quick, I reckon.

I run the coverage press quite a bit and haven't noticed any more def. interference penalties than using standard or normal coverage. Defensively it makes a huge difference though if you press and send a 5 man blitz, usually your defenders are almost in the QB throat before the WR gets off the line.

Yeah, I think the press is a little too over-done at times. Trying to find a better way to combat it on passing situations.

Game Plan itself is a horrible implemented gimmick. I hate it.

There are times on 3rd down and say 5-10, the cpu lines up in 4 wide and I pick Commit Pass and keep my two LB's in zone, the draw is an easy 1st down. The AI of the LB's gets thrown out the window. They're in a short zone at the 1st down length and the HB goes untouched until he gets 1st down yardage. It's Overkill, again.

I have to say its nice to have a fighting chance to sell out and try to stop a 3rd or 4th and inches but by causing the whole D to just forget basic football principles is getting annoying.
