Re: WR Screen - execution problems

I've had Mid screens run for TD's. The key is really waiting to draw the DL to you. Most times it takes a second or two. Wait too long and the Screen blocking OL ends up running back towards the DL coming at you instead of blocking. Again its one of those plays that work only about 60% of the time. Which it should BTW.

Also like MonteCarlo said, never run it when they press. You see man audible out.

I haven't seen one single reply to this thread to acknowledge the point of the original post. The animation after the WR catches the ball... A.) stepping towrds the QB. B.) turning to go up field seemingly with a loaded diaper

Boom. defense has now reacted and they crush him. I'd like to show you a replay, but the PS3 system doesn't save every play online, especially if it's a broken 5 yd loss.

The announcement of the play might go something like this : "OHHH, the defense was completely fooled on the screen to wide open Diaperman. I have no idea what happened there, but he caught the ball and ran away from the three blockers that were perfectly set. Diaperman actually ran back towards the freight trian, I mean the aggitated DE?!?! What was he thinking?"

Yep, my favorite play in any playbook has been rendered useless. What could pick up a first down is now being blown up by a DB against 3 blockers..

You've got my sympathy, but I just don't have this problem offline. Most of the time when my receiver catches the pass he's heading upfield.

If you have a left-handed QB, WR screens work better if you throw 'em to the left, and vice versa for a right-handed QB.

I'm sure you know this, but you'll also have more luck throwing screens on 2nd-and-long or 3rd-and-long ...

There's a chance that the animations I am experiencing online are due to home field advantage for the other team. Wr's might be rattled. I am pretty sure this animation happens home and away though. I am labbing different methods of throwing the ball. bullets, floaters, leading in all directions. Sometimes the damn pass works just fine, it's gotta be something definable.

I tend to bullet them myself.

FYI, I play on Varsity -- I've always been a Heisman player, but with the right sliders Varsity plays better than Heisman and AA this year.

That's all the proof you need. Same animation 9/10 times. Did you guys see all of that daylight?
