Recruits Flocking to Belmont to Start Something Special
NASHVILLE, TN Junior Dewrell, former college offensive coordinator and analyst on ESPN's College Gameday, has be named as the new head coach for the brand-new Belmont University Bruin football team. Belmont has never had a team in their history, and has used their resources to fund a full-fledged Division 1 FBS team starting next season.
"This is quite an honor. I'm excited at the opportunity to start something fresh and new here at Belmont. The Bruins will not be some run-over independent team, trust me. We will rise and gain success that will hopefully create new opportunities for the entire athletic program," Dewrell said today.
"I'm also really excited at the number of recruits that have signed up to join our program. These guys are dedicated to building a powerhouse, and I can't wait for them to step on campus."

Dewrell and Belmont Pick Up First Signee
NASHVILLE, TN Former Auburn offensive coordinator and ESPN College Gameday Analyst Junior Dewrell picked up the first signee for the new Belmont University Bruins today.

Under the radar RB Jordan Evans committed today to be a Bruin, and the Missourian will most likely lead the depth chart for Dewrell's squad come next fall.

"(Evans) is quick as a cat with great size. Most kids of his caliber would have gone to the Big 10 or Big 12," Dewrell told reporters today in front of the new Underwood Football Complex on campus at Belmont. "I'm excited. This kid will be a break out player for sure next season. I'm still shocked he picked us over teams like Missouri and Iowa."

Evans originally was projected as a lower-tier running back prospect, but was being contacted from all over the country for his Track and Field career. The future Bruin holds three Missouri state track records in the 100m, 200m, and Long Jump, showing how much of an athletic asset he will be at Belmont.

"I just hope this starts a trend in the recruiting pipeline. We're closing in on several diamond in the rough athletes, and the best is yet to come here as we build the next dynasty in college football," Dewrell said in closing remarks. "Jordan and our next signees will definitely take us to the next level."
