Re: NCAA 2004 Slider Discussion.

I agree Andy. The formula for a "universal" or perfect set of sliders is hard to come by for me. I am playing as crappy teams right now and playing similar teams to get a feel for average teams.

I feel like sliders should be like this :

If I'm Ohio State, I should be able to dust North Texas.

If I'm , say, Maryland, I should be able to give Ohio State a run.

If I'm ranked #25, I should be competitive with most other Top 25 schools.

If I am Grambling, I should get waxed by Miami.

Re: NCAA 2004 Slider Discussion.

My main problems that need to be tweeked are the dropped passes by human players and run block. Im not running well at all. I am baylor but im also playing sorry teams like myself. Not really have the interception problem. Actully after messing around with Baylor in one game I threw 5. Since then I started my dynasty and 2 games in I havent thrown one yet.

How do you guys go about finding the perfect settings?

I will play an exhibition against the same team (EMU vs. EMU). I if find myself:

a)Blowing them out -- bump up the difficulty
b)Passing near 100% -- change passing sliders
c)Running 60+ yards per carry -- change running sliders
d)Getting a sack every other play -- change blocking

Ideally, I can adjust the sliders enough that the game is close to a stalemate, like 10-7/14-14/21-20 by halftime.

Like last year, I would recommend maxing out all penalty sliders except holding and facemask(leave them at the default level).

Re: NCAA 2004 Slider Discussion.

My personal early slider settings so far....

only changed sliders are noted (0 - 20 scale)
cpu offense:
The cpu needs some help in the run department and seems to throw too many errant passes so I bumped up their run sliders and gave them some more accuracy.

qb acc 15
catch 9
rba 15
rblk 15

human offense
I was running a bit too well, so I decreased my run block.

rblk 7

cpu defense
cpu needed to react to the ball a little better and needed to be able to shut down my running game so I bumped up awareness and break block. I may move breack block and awareness up even more and then go back and put the human offense run block back to middle.

awr 12
knock 15
break block 13

human defense
My defense was a little too good so I'm slowly lowering their awareness.

awr 7
knock 15

Re: NCAA 2004 Slider Discussion.

Guys, we need to figure out a way to make the CPU actually ATTEMPT to run the ball more. I just played Penn State and they only tried to run the ball 11 times all game and they were not being blown out or anything. I know some have said adjust coach tendencies, but for exhibition play I don't think that is possible. If it is, please show where. I pushed up CPU run ability 3 and run block 3 and they still won't try to run. Anybody got anything to help that?

BTW, for those asking I would assume all sliders are 8 minute quarters and on AA unless someone states otherwise.
