Re: What makes your favorite school a "position U"

I'm Surprised there's no love for Tennessee's RB's

No. 10 - Travis Stephens
No. 9 - Hank Lauricella
No. 8 - James Stewart
No. 7 - Johnnie Jones
No. 6 - Johnny Majors
No. 5 - Charlie Garner

No. 4 - Reggie Cobb - Exploded onto the scene in 1987 as a freshman with 1,197 yards. Was off to an even more impressive start as a junior in '89 when he averaged 6.8 yards per carry before being suspended.

No. 3 - Jamal Lewis - Another tailback who never quite reached his potential at UT. Rushed for 1,364 yards as a freshman, then got hurt as a sophomore in 1998. Who knows what he might have totaled behind UT's national championship offensive line. Still, finished with 2,677 career yards, good for fourth all-time.

No. 2 - Travis Henry - "The Cheese" was the rock at UT. When UT needed a tough yard, Henry was there. When UT needed a starting tailback to step in for Lewis, Henry was there. He's UT's all-time leading rusher with 3,078 yards, making him the only tailback to top 3,000.

No. 1 - Chuck Webb - You won't find him among UT's leading rushers. A devastating knee injury saw to that. But Webb showed enough flashes of greatness in 1989 with 1,236 yards on 5.9 yards per carry to leave an indelible mark on any UT football historians.

also, good point about nfl branding psu lb-u. and for good reason.

as for top end talent, bama's bennett, thomas, lowe, and jordan are certainly way up there.
cornelius bennett should be in the nfl hof

USC... QB's??? Who? I mean I can name Vince Evans - Paul McDonald - Carson Palmer - Matt Leinart - Mark Sanchez, who's only played one year and it wasn't a very good one from a statistical stand-point... but who has ever done anything in the NFL? Seriously... USC???

Agreed. Miami is Quarterback U no doubt, based on pure, straight-forward college production. Dr. Death named two more SC qbs than I could. So-Cal is out.

I totally agree. Derrick Thomas was asked to rush the qb more than Bennett who statistically ran circles around Thomas with regards to all around play.

well if we are talkin NFL production no, i wuz talkin strictly college...didnt know we were talkin NFL pipelines, if you wana go the NFL route then i would definetly take us over USC...

i can respect your POV on that because I think it could go either way as far as college production goes...
