Re: Sticks vs D-pad

I use the D-pad to navigate through menus and play calling but the sticks for the actual game play. I use the D-pad for the menus and play calling because I know when I press left/right/up/down it is going to react as such.

Re: Sticks vs D-pad

I was stricly a D-pad user until 5 years ago, when I finally switched to using the Analog Sticks. It was certainly an adjustment (like others, I grew up on NES, Genesis etc.) at first but once you get used to it, the sticks are superior to the D-pad.

Re: Sticks vs D-pad

I never really understood the people that use the D-Pad... as soon as sticks came out on controllers I was all about it. When Xbox introduced the new placement I was in love... I feel that the D Pad is outdated and the Xbox control realizes the left stick should be primary, which makes sense to have it where they have it. This is the same reason why I hate playing on PS3 now, the low left stick feels so awkward to me, while the 360 control fits the hand like a glove.

I hate the D-pad on my 360..

D - Pad has it's uses when programmed into games the right way. Like quick selecting an inventory item etc..

I agree with you on that, tried using the d-pad a couple times and was horrible lol, so I'm glad the controllers these days have analog sticks.
