I've got a few simple questions regarding recruiting

Bare with me, I've NEVER recruited before. I've always played single seasons. I've got a couple of basic questions:

1) Can you sign a player before the season starts and have him on the roster?

2) How do you even make an offer/contact the player in the recruiting menu? I'm totally confused here.

1 All signed players are added to the roster in the off season.

2 You add them to your recruiting board and then you can call them.

1) not on the first season (pre season) but then you recruit during that year and the following off season for the next year.

2) you have to set up your recruiting board in the pre season (or you can do it after but you want it ready for week 1).
target the guys you want, in this year's version i would only target guys who have a green dot next to them (means you're in their top 10 schools).

then when week one starts and every week thereafter you can contact them by going to your recruiting board and calling them. pick the amount of time you want to spend.

if this is your first time, i reccommend targeting 15 guys and then you can evenly distribute 40 min a week per call per player.

after the season is over recruiting continues with the off season and they add some (really not that many) new prospects. if you've signed everyone you went after in the regular season, go after ten guys so you can dist. an hour per prospect.

this was my strategy by my 3rd season with LSU. i went from #8 recruitiung class to #4 year two to #1.

i stand by the 15 targets plan, i got 13 out of my original 15, picked up two others during that season when the two i lost early committed and then when the off season came i got 7 out of 10 guys i targeted. so i actually had 22 signed in my #1 class. Five 5*'s, fifteen 4*'s and two 3*'s (P and K).
