Stopping the outside run

Am I the only one having trouble stopping the outside run? I can usually stop anything up the middle, but anything off-tackle or outside, I feel like my linebackers get sucked into being blocked and then it's only the corner out there.

I'm using a 4-3 as Wisconsin, should I switch to a 3-3-5 or a 4-2-5?

Re: Stopping the outside run

Yeah I asked the same question yesterday and my only response was this really complicated play where I'd have to move like 3 guys and switch the assignments of two others.

I've recently switched to a 4-2-5 defense and it has stopped outside runs very well. The lineman are more spread out so it takes longer for the backs to get by the DE's. Its not as good against inside runs though. I often find myself having to guess whether or not to blitz inside.

Its a monster against passing players though.
