Recruiting Gem?

I have searched and searched for this question and answer on the board for the last hour and have yet to see it mentioned. While I was going through some of the ESPN 150 in my OD last night, I noticed one player that had a little gem right next to his picture. Does anyone know what this represents? I dont remember ever seeing it before and was wondering if there was something that I just never noticed before.

It means he secretly likes your school. If you add him to your board you have a good chance at getting him. What stinks is when you find these guys in the latter recruiting stages, because by then its too late.

It only means you'll end up in his top 10 if you recruit him. If its someone you really want, add him but if its someone good and its past week 2, its too late to make up the ground to sign him.

Re: Recruiting Gem?

What is the point in the dev's telling you this. Doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of the kid "secretely" liking your school. I would prefer to recruit a guy that is N/A and hit him hard with an hour and next week I am in his top 10. Or waste a hour on a N/A and never get anywhere. That is the whole point of recriting. I just don't understand the point in telling you this. Not very realistic.

That's not true. I added a 3* FB to my board in week 8. By week 13 (the time of his visit) he was a soft verbal to TAMU but he committed to me after the game.

Aaah, that answers another question. I wasn't sure if it was even possible to sway a soft committ. I figured they differentiated hard from soft for a reason, but thus far, it seemed only like a tease to me.

Yeah, there's an achievement for doing it.
