Lateral Success?

I remember running the option in past years with various QBs and I think AWR has a big effect.

I was Army last year, and the backup QB had much better running stats than the starter so I subbed him in. I had a tough time making good, quick pitches. Sometimes they came out late, sometimes off target.

Anyway, the starter, who had much better awareness, just ran the option much better.

I have noticed that option plays are trickier now, my best guess is it's either an awareness attribute or a carry attribute, can't think of anything else.

You used to be able to pitch the ball whenever you pleased in previous versions. This year, the option actually has to be executed as it should. You need to read the end, and pitch with great timing.

I'm playing with Army and I just can't seem to get the hang of the timing. I've started to rely on the tosses and speed sweeps.

I once had a glitch where my QB did a forward pass when I pressed the LT. I called a speed option and the CPU nano blitzed me and when I was scrambling away from a defender I hit the LT and he threw it forward to the RB. I got a TD when I should have had a sack for -7 yards.

How is that a glitch? You're allowed to throw the ball forward, ya know...?

The problem with the option isn't the pitches, it's the pitch relationship between the back and the QB. The back gets wayyyyyy too far outside and behind the QB in most cases to make a quality pitch.
