Never had Live before, How do I get the patches?

I just setup live but had to run to class before I could play any games.

How do I get the patch #3 and/or the tuning packs?

just turn on the game, it automatically downloads the patches, far as the tuner goes, it will tell you on the screen your tuner is out of date, hit ok to get the latest tuner.

Yep when downloading the patch, u get D/C off XBL/PSN.

You'll have to enter the online code from the game manual to get the tuning pack. I would assume you haven't already done that if you weren't hooked up to Live.
