I am nearing the end of my third and final year with Western Kentucky. I been fairly successful in my three years, including three conference titles and one 10 win season. I've recieved a few job offers including an extension offer, but have declined all offers. At season's end, what will my options be? I never played out a contract. I was hoping to get a better school to offer me a position, but have yet to get it. Will I need to settle for what I'm offered or will I be able to take any job?

You should get a few offers just like any other season that you can choose from. But don't expect to get offered by Ohio State or Alabama. You'll have to take another intermediary step at a struggling BCS team before those come in. I, for example, took the Illinois job (2-10 the year before) after a successful run with FAU. You'll probably end up with offers from schools like Illinois, Vandy, UCLA, Louisville (gasp), etc.

But I'm pretty sure you can't just pick whatever job you want.

I was hoping that some of the struggling schools in my dynasty would offer me a job. In my dynasty, several traditional powerhouse programs have submitted sub par season records (LSU, USC, Florida State, Florida, and several others). Actually, I have already passed on UCLA, Texas Tech, and NC State. I guess I was hoping to have a more prestigous school that was current on the downward slide to offer me a job, but I see now that I may need to settle for the next step.
