Quater Length

What length quarters do you play on. I'm looking for a longer length because I feel that 5 is too short and I cannot get enough plays in. But I do not want to get to a point where games take too long to play.

So vote in the poll as to the length of quarters you play in and offer an explanation as to why.

Re: Quater Length

I play 9. I get about 120 plays in on average which is realistic. A game takes me between 45-60 minutes to complete.

Re: Quater Length

I play 6. Although I'll cop to having no idea how many plays that results in. I just know I get realistic stats and scores out of it.

Re: Quater Length

6 for me. I feel like I get a good game of football out of that. Any longer would be too long time-wise for me. 6 minutes I see realistic scores and the numbers in terms of yardage seem fine stats wise.

Re: Quater Length

I play 7 minute quarters.

I also play very conservative and chew clock, so I still have probably quite a few less plays per game than a lot of people playing 5 and 6 minute quarters.

We play 8 min in both of my online dynastys. I prefer 7 minutes though at least vs the CPU

Re: Quater Length

For me it depends, if I am doing my Oregon dynasty I play 6 min. bc I run the no huddle and any longer quarters would be too many plays and unrealistic. With any other team I play 8 and get some good results but I also like to run the play clock down and take time picking a play and hot routes ect.

Re: Quater Length

I go 8 minutes, seems to produce realistic stats for me, plus I chew clock in the 4th when leading (or sooner if it's a blowout).
