Getting Interest from Recruits

Is the interest level of recruits fairly random, or can you influence the level of interest they have? For example, if I never play in Texas then I would expect Texas high schoolers not to be all that interested in me. Conversely, if I schedule a game in Texas every season I would think more prospects would have me higher on their lists.

I know winning games, getting on TV and being ranked will gain you exposure and influence, but does where you play help you in the recruiting process?

Re: Getting Interest from Recruits

I don't think where you play the game has any effect on recruits from that area becoming interested. I've had players show interest in me from states like Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and South Carolina and I've never played in the South-Eastern United States in my dynasty. I've played in Florida a few times for Bowl games.

I think if you win games and increase your prestige recruits will start to show interest beyond your pipeline states, but I think it is random.

Get to 6* prestige, then all of your interest problems will go away.

I'm currently using Michigan, a 6* school.
Just wondering if you can use your schedule as a bonus. Since there is no financial advantage to playing home games, I like to play on the road. I would think if I played a game in Texas every year it would be a bonus to interest - like California kids knowing ND will go to CA to play Stanford or USC.
