Size of DT's

What is the largest defensive tackle you have been able to recruit? I run a 3-4 and am finding it very difficult to get a guy with the size i want.

I ran a 3-4 with Notre Dame. It is very difficult to recruit for a 3-4. You could look for fast DT and move them to end. You can usually find some nice sized DT. I had one 6-1 330. problem is he was only a 3*. You have to look for big DL and Big OLB every year wether or not you need them. I went with the biggest LB regardless of being middle or outside. It defenitley has to be addresed next year.

Re: Size of DT's

Honestly, this is one of the reasons that the 3-4 is so rare in college. It's hard to find kids coming out of high school that are big enough to man the nose tackle spot. It's also tough to find 3-4 LBs (both in the game and real life) who can rush the passer and play coverage, too. It just takes more specialized players to play in a 3-4, and getting those guys is tough in a recruiting system.

Not to mention, the 3-4 is generally more complex than the 4-3 by nature, and when you only have players for 3-5 years, that's just another reason to stick with the 4-3.

That said, EA still needs to make scheme-specific positions and depth charts.

I think the biggest i've found was 323 lbs. He graduated at 328. Most DTs in the game are undersized for 3-4 schemes.

This may be true however i have a feeling it plays a large role in potential when importing a draft class to madden.
