Decommitting in NCAA12?

Hopefully we can get a little conversation going on this huge aspect of REALISTIC recruiting. (I will come back and add more soon) Maybe should be a poll but I don't have the time to retype this.

Doubt it. Simply because of the coding that would have ot take place, as well as adding in reasons for the recruits to decommitt.

Coach leaving to take a job at another school would be a big one (see Lane Kiffin to USC).

But why would a coach leave in a video game? Unless CC is in this could never happen. As of now we have no word on CC...it would be a huge break if we did.

Be careful what you wish for. Can we say overdone? Along with bad snaps/blocked kicks/better returns ,decommiting recruits is something that I fear would be very very hard to program to occur realistically.

While I want EA to put things in that add to realism, I think I might break my TV if it occurred in the game like I think it would.

Thats the whole point IMO, football is not all "peaches and cream". Texas A&M coaches probably wanted to break their fax machine a couple years ago when Corey Nelson (OLB) chose Oklahoma on signing day. My thought on getting a recruit to decommit would be for either (highly recruited recruits, coaching turnover, or not getting "the love" after committing). Either way reading the "Sell me on CC got me to thinking about this.

Like I said it could be a very cool and very realistic feature. But likely overdone. And without full 85 schollie rosters (or even 120+ with walk-ons) it would be TERRIBLE. Think EA and their love of having your 85 overall junior leaving for the NFL draft after an OK season. That coupled with your recruit decommitting leaving you with jack at that position because you are limited to 70 players.

Realistic? yes but not with the current limitations/problems with recruiting and or players leaving.

Yeah that's a good point. It really wouldn't be realistic until we get 85+ man rosters. Also, with the current limit on 10 hours per week I don't like the idea of having to "give love" to my current commits in order to keep them. Some other system must me made for that to work. I think this sort of thing should definitely be implemented, but only if they are going to do it right (which requires them to get other things right first).
