Re: Ranking the SEC RB

I'd have Onterio McCalebb about fifth. That is all.

It's not much to go on, but this dude tore. it. up. in the spring game.

This is a little sample taste

We were only doing 1 RB per team and Dyer is better than McCalebb.

He looks like he's a pretty good back. The SEC definately has some good backs this year.

Re: Ranking the SEC RB

1. lattimore - most complete back. while other backs had higher ypc averages, lattimore was the main focus of defenses. four sec games with 198+ total yards, including 212 and 3 td's vs kentucky in one half before suffering an ankle injury.
2. davis - giving him the benefit of the doubt over richardson because he has carried the load, but it could go either way
3. richardson - strength, speed, balance
4. dyer
5. bolden
6. ballard
7. poole
8. norman
9. ealey
10. ware
11. rainey (i think he's better than demps, but how many carries can he handle)
12. sanders

nothing against mccalebb even if he was eligible i wouldnt list him, great stats, but he was a utility player with almost nothing but sweeps to the outside. obviously one of the most explosive players in the conference though

Re: Ranking the SEC RB

Do ya'll watch much SEC football??

OP says he didn't put Latt first because his yards per carry wasn't great, but then put him above Dyer.... Look at the yards per carry. If Dyer had the carries that Latt had, he would have been over 1700 yards.

Yes, Trent Richardson is a freak physically, but the kid can't stay healthy, I wouldn't say he has great balance, he also runs very high.... but he would be near the top of my list.

OP lost all credibility when he said Auburn's OLine was absent last year. Just proved your lack of knowledge. You don't win the SEC or National Championship without a great OL

A) As an Louisiana 5A Guard, I agree with this statement
B) The fact that Dyer had that great line was just an added bonus.

Go back and read his post again. He said should have a decent year THIS YEAR because of the absence of newton and the losses at the OL.

And I can't help but laugh at the ranking of Spencer Ware by some of you guys. Dude is an absolute beast, and he should have an awesome year this year behind an experienced OL and a coach who likes to run the ball.

1. Trent Richardson
2. Marcus Lattimore
3. Spencer Ware
4. Marcus Dyer
5. Knile Davis
6. Tauren Poole
7. Jeff Demps
8. The rest...
