Got to see and Play NCAA 12 and Madden 12

First things first wow was it hot in the room where they are displaying NCAA 12. Its so hot in there that the people in there have to be drained cause I have an exhibitors only badge yet I was able to walk right in. In fact some of the media guys welcomed me and said if you can withstand the heat you're more than welcome to be here. Ben was there going over the game.

Just so we're clear I loved NCAA over Madden last year!

My first initial take of the day is that Madden looks much better than NCAA this year. It's really not even close.

The grass looks better from a distance (Madden)
The players look better (Madden)
The stadiums look more life like (Madden)
Smoother animations as well (Madden)

NCAA is nice dont get me wrong, it just looks almost the same as what I saw last year. Plus it really bothers me that a game that is less than a month away from being on the shelves and no more than a week or so from going gold is secluded in a dark room @ E3. Leads me to believe there are some issues with the game. Other wise why not create some space for it...

Looks like Madden is back in a really big way! The player entrances, body types, faces, its all there guys! Play was really smooth and they added some nice touches to the play screen. Ticking dial instead of number countdown on the amount of time you have left to call a defensive play. Shifting of men (#'s) when changing formations just looks right.

How many copies of NCAA are sold every year? (Edit: Found out that it was 850k)

How many copies of Madden? (Edit: Found out that it was 2.6 Million)

I know Madden sells more but how many more? Is it enough to completely disregard the series like it appears they have? Can't they give this to another company (2K?) if they don't want to put the investment into it?

2K is free to make a college football game if they want too...

Anyway, I think NCAA Football will be a solid title like it was last year, just with the improvements it needed to gameplay and Dynasty mode..

People are blowing this way out of proportion. Yes, Madden got HUGE changes because Madden has needed huge changes for a while now. People need to just wait for the demo to drop before they make judgment

I'll be the first one to admit if I overreact.

I will reserve all judgment until I get my hands on the demo but this was just kind of disheartening.

I didnt like how eli manning looked huge in the dynamic performance thing they showed though...maybe they can fix that

i agree when a game is a month from release they aren't usually going to stick it in the corner. No matter how much attention they want for Madden they always give NCAA some more love than they are here. I know i'll still like the game because i loved it last year but it really seems like they blew their load on the features this year and gameplay took a backseat.

Not sure what you're getting at here, Madden has ALWAYS looked better than NCAA. But looks mean nothing if the game plays like crap. Hopefully, that won't be the case.

I also agree with the blowing things out of proportion. People need to chill.
