Rush D looks weak, again.

Is it just me or am I missing something? The linebackers still don't seem to be hitting the gaps like they should be. I miss the good ol' days when you were 100% certain that your opponent called a running play. You then proceeded to call Engage Eight, sit back, and watch the opposing RB run straight into a wall of defenders. Looks like it'll be too easy once again to just bounce it outside with your mediocre RB and completely avoid those 99 LBs. Where's the penetration in the backfield?

I'm not talking about nano blitzing, audibling, hotrouting, or aligning. I'm strictly referring to an Engage Eight that fails to stop the run because of poor LB/DL play during obvious running situations.

I would have to disagree with you here, unless you have seen a video I haven't. The run D looks much better than last year. Look no further than the 2nd Nebraska Ohio State video. Runs to the outside were exceptionally well contained.

I cannot complain too much. I am just happy the days of taking your defensive end, sliding him three yards outside of the tackle. Then just running around him are over

Yeah the vids look pretty great. The first video the shotgun runs were working but they should have been working they were against nickel and an overmatched defense.

Second video both Ds, especially Braska, were STOUT
