Re: Special Teams

I agree with Spartan I think the blocking in the demo was great compared to prior years. There were actual lanes.

Hard to code things out where it only happens once or twice a season.
I disagree here and can be controlled by who is coaching the teams now that coaches are in. Florida, under Meyer, and VT, under Beamer, have been known for great punt and FG blocking schemes. Most notably when Florida played Kentucky under Meyer, there were blocked punts everywhere.

It should stay like it is in the demo.

I don't think it happens too often, I've only blocked one field goal and I've spent a few hours in the demo.

Re: Special Teams

The only time I want blocks semi-often is when the defense is in punt block and the punt team doesn't audible and stays spread out. Then it should be about 50/50 if you get there in time (higher if you're fast and you jump the snap). Other than that, blocked FGs and Punts should be about 3-6 a season. But like someone said earlier; I'd rather never see one than have them once a game.

sorry wasnt specific, when i play and punt the cpu never runs with their blockers not do they even block very well on kR now when the user does yes its great

Last season........between 6 to 8 were blocked every saturday on average. With one Saturday there were 17 blocked.

So in college, punt and FG blocks happen often. A good number of schools make their living on blocking punts and FGs.

Re: Special Teams

I have other special teams concerns...

-Double teams on the gunners during punts
-Engaged player mobility to help with realistic blocking on the gunners especially, but also general
-More punt formations: 1 gunner 1 tight on either side
-More punt return formations: double 1 gunner, single the other; single both gunners; 2 returners
-More punt return plays: reverse, fake reverse, lateral
-More kick return plays: see punt return ^^^
-More kick-off plays/formations: 4 on one side of the kicker, 6 on the other; run out from the muddle that the Colts & some college teams use

I had more but can't think of them now

Re: Special Teams

Yeah KR formations are very limited with only return and middle. Don't even give you a left or right.
