How do you set up the non-traditional positions?

Many teams have unique or unusual defensive positions (and some offensive positions fit the bill too). Where should you place certain players on the depth chart in order for the CPU to correctly slot them into the position on the field?

Here's what I'm looking for:

Joker LB
- Alabama - Courtney Upshaw (MLB #2) (3-4)
- Texas A&M - Damontre Moore (MLB #2) (3-4)

Spur
- South Carolina - Devonte Holloman (SS #2) (4-2-5)
- Pitt - Todd Thomas (SS#2) (Multiple D)
- Southern Miss - Jerrion Johnson (SS#2) (4-2-5)

Hero
- Penn State - Drew Astorino (SS#1)

Bandit (Illinois, Pitt, Tulsa)

Star LB
- Michigan State - Denicos Allen - (ROLB1) (4-3)
- Toledo - Isaiah Ballard - (SS2) (4-2-5)

DS / CS (Baylor)

Rock & Star (Maryland)

Whip (Virginia Tech, Bowling Green)

Rover (Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Utah, Navy, Army, Bowling Green) (I'm guessing this is essentially the SS, but not for all)
- Western Michigan - Johnnie Simon (SS#2) (4-2-5)

Devil (Duke)

Panther LB (Pitt)

Boundary Safety (WVU)

Weak Safety (TCU)

Aztec (San Diego St)

LEO LB (Wyoming, Kent St)

Lobo (New Mexico)

Cane (Tulsa)

Kat (Rice)

BAN DE (UCF, Army)

Stud (Bowling Green)

Hawk (ULM)

I get the feeling this is going to require formation subs, but I'm hoping there's an easier way I'm just missing...

2nd string MLB or ROLB

4-2-5 base defense 2nd string SS

Would either be 2nd string SS or FS

Not sure about the rest

Re: How do you set up the non-traditional positions?

Thanks. That's a start.

Do you know if there's an easy way to make sure pass-rush specialists are typically going to do what they're best at? Basically, to make sure 3-4 rush OLB's aren't dropping into coverage too much?

Perhaps that's too much to ask for... For now I'll just try to get the right players in the game.

I suppose the basic thing I need to know is this: Who does the CPU automatically send in as the 5th DB in the 3-3-5 and 4-2-5 sets?

If I know that, I can knock most of these out...

Baylor:
CS, cover safety = FS
DS, down safety = SS

NB, nickel back (not the crappy band) = 3rd CB

Re: How do you set up the non-traditional positions?

These sound mostly like special names for positions that already exist...

For example... Arkansas doesn't have any wide receivers. There's not a wide receiver in the Arkansas play book. There are Split Ends, Flankers, and Slots.

In fact, there aren't even Left Tackles, Left Guards, Right Guards, or Right Tackles. They're called Strong & Weak tackle & guard at Arkansas, and they line up on different sides of the ball (strong always on same side as TE, etc). This is something that requires excessive formation subs...

Some schools call them Outside Linebackers, or Right & Left outside linebacker. And Middle Linebacker. A lot of others call them Sam, Will, & Mike Linebacker. Or Strong, Weak, & Middle Linebacker.

If it's nickel 3-3-5 then the 3rd CB is the 5th DB. If its the 4-2-5 or 3-3-5 (non-nickel) then it is the 2nd SS

Most of the ones I listed are hybrid positions. I understand what they are in real life.

I'm trying to get them onto the game.

I understand all the elementary designations like SLB/WLB/MLB. That's why I didn't ask for them (and b/c I don't think there's a way to designate the Sam on this game).
