Re: NCAA 2004

This is a little off-topic since this thread is about NCAA 2004, but does anyone remember anything about the PS2 versions of NCAA 08 - 11? I don't remember much about any of those. I had them all, but I think I either sold them or traded them in and stuck with 07. More specifically, what were some of the pros/cons of each of them for those of you that can remember?

Thanks.

08 had the bee line pursuit bug. Was not playable.

09 was the last one I played on that gen. Absolutely loved it! Gameplay was great. Only problem, in dynasty, seemed like every school was on probation after a couple years.

Ah the golden age of football games! So strange that EA made better football games when they actually had competition. Just look at the quality of NCAA and the Madden series after 06

09 was the one with Jackson on the cover, right? I think I had a lot of fun with that. I don't remember much at all about 10 or 11. I didn't have 11 very long. Now I wish I would have kept them. I remember 08 now. It had Zabranskey on the cover, or whatever his name was from Boise. I do remember being disappointed in that one after playing 07, but I can't remember why.

Re: NCAA 2004

There have been things removed from these games that I've always wondered why. The most significant thing, IMO, was the online Overtime Drill with it's own leaderboards. I never quite understood why they removed it ... Just one year it was gone. I was disappointed by that because playing a game online is such a commitment, and if you get stuck with somebody who exploits the game or does annoying things, you're stuck with him. In OT Drill, it was a 5-minute commitment and if the guy was annoying, it's alright, the game is over soon enough. If he is a legit player, then you could always hit him up for a full game. You could also tell within those few minutes if someone was better or worse than you... Right away, without wondering about it. If you win easily, you're probably the better player, or if you get killed, likewise.

Just don't know why they dropped that... I'd play online a lot more. Now, I hardly ever play online because if you get a lousy player in a ranked game then you're stuck in a 1 on 1 virtual chat room with this guy for 35 minutes. It's such a drag.

Re: NCAA 2004

All this talk about last-gen versions of NCAA brought back great memories. Since my old Xbox kicked the bucket last year, the only backwards-compatible NCAA I can play on my 360 is NCAA Football 06. I checked on Amazon for a copy of it and I bought a brand-new, unopened game for just $7. Can't wait to dig into it and play some old-school NCAA while the new game gets its issues ironed out.
