Why is Cover 3 so bad against the run?

I'm not sure if it because there is 0 gap responsibilty for the LBs, that would be my guess but it is pretty bad. If I'm lucky and see it quick enough with my LB or SS I can get in the backfield but if I don't it's a 10+ yard gain 90% of the time. It's starting to really bug me. Man I am having a bad day with this game.

Are you using sliders, or playing on default. Also what level are you playing. I'm using hiesman with custom set of sliders and really have no problem with cover 3, and run a 34 defense.

Yeah no problem for me either on cover 3 buts thats because I use the guess play type thing or at least highlight the rb. And I always recruit for run defense.
